Finding out my client Karen had a little too much red wine yesterday evening threw me a challenge as we began today’s training session. For me it is important to find out how a client is feeling, what they did the night before and what their agenda is for the rest of the day. All this needs to be taken into account as we begin each session as the last thing a client needs is to be pummelled into the ground when their energy is slightly low or they have a big day ahead. Don’t get me wrong we still worked hard getting Karen’s heart rate up into the high 160s during her conditioning, also putting her through her paces in the strength segment. We just took the edge off the session with fewer sets and times. For me it’s all in the client’s form and the look on their face during rest periods. She worked hard, building the session just enough to keep her energized, looking fresher in the face than when she began.
